Young Conversions

Youngs have never built two motorhomes that were quite alike and that's just the way they like it - to be known as flexible designers and builders of bespoke motorhomes

YOUNG Conversions has been around for over twenty years now, mainly trading by word of mouth and personal recommendation. Everything they create is uniquely hand crafted, often producing practical designs from a customers' amateur sketches of the desired layout. The types of customers who seek out Youngs include amateur and professional sportsmen, people with disabilities and people who require a mobile office with sleeping accommodation. All kinds of needs have been catered for over the years, on a huge variety of vehicles. If you require a used vehicle to build on, Youngs will source it for you, carrying out all the necessary checks to ensure that it is in reliable and in the best possible condition.

One of Youngs' specialities is their drop-down roof bed, which was designed in-house and being fitted for many years before La Strada produced their own, supposedly revolutionary design. The one shown here is installed inside a Renault Master 120 Dci, which has been used by Robbie Young and his family, sleeping two up and two down. The beauty of it is that it is possible to put the children to bed "upstairs", while the parents relax in the Lounge area. Youngs also fitted a complete set of seats from the French specialist seat manufacturer, Scopema-RIB, which are not only crash tested to the most stringent standards, but also some of the most comfortable vehicle seats you will ever sit in. They are also versatile, sliding along a frame that enables them to be set on either side of the van or pushed together in a double.

You are not restricted to the Renault for this installation and a similar bed mechanism has been fitted into a Volkswagen Crafter.

A typical full motorhome conversion (vehicle not included) will usually cost you in the region of £18,000, but with such a diverse range of projects undertaken, this is only a guide. The only limit is your imagination and the advice is provided free of charge.
